This past academic year was quite exciting for the Epsilon Chapter as covid restrictions were lifted throughout the first semester. We saw our first in person rush in over a year in which around 200-250 potential new members showed up, we ended up initiating 34 men as part of the Alpha Chi member class. In November, Sreepal Chiluveru (Treasurer), Nathan Beyene, Gabe Buxton and myself traveled to Philidelipha to attend a Pike-U regional leadership Summit where we learned about many operational techniques and connected with brothers from many other chapters. In January, Sreepal and I attended the Chapter Executives Conference in Memphis, TN. We were split up and put through a position specific curriculum to prepare us for the remainder of our terms. Here at the conference I befriended the President of the Beta Xi chapter at the University of Wisconsin, we still communicate and use each other as a resource. In the Spring, we put on a great rush which resulted in 18 men getting initiated as the Alpha Psi member class. We end this school year with 157 brothers which is the largest fraternity on campus. The Executive Committee is very excited for the fall where we will be able to implement new policies and have a fresh start with much more experience than we had entering this Spring.

Our chapter has been lucky enough to work with the Blacksburg Fire Department, raising over $100,000 over the past 9 years. The annual "Fireman's Challenge" is a week of events with the goal of raising as much money as possible for our first responders. While we as a chapter raise our own money, most of our contributions come from other Greek organizations. This is something that we as a chapter take immense pride in and hope to continue for as long as we can.
A recent alumni of the Epsilon chapter, Brian Johnson went his college career at Virginia Tech with a 76.1% success rate on 71 field goals and 100% on 131 extra point attempts. He originally signed to the New Orleans Saints but now currently plays for his hometown team, The Washington Football Team. In his first game with the team, Johnson made a game-winning 48-yard field goal in a 17-15 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Way to make us proud Brian!
